Venturing Crew 888 has lost its charter and is looking for a new orgainzation to charter our group. If you know of such a group please get in contact with Vicki or Seth.
Venturing Crew 2888 of Bozeman, Montana is planning on hosting a three (3) week long expedition to Costa Rica for registered Boy Scouts and Venturers (Boys and Girls) aged 16-21. This trip includes ocean kayaking, hiking, historical sites, world service, and possibly some climbing. All participants in this course will participate in the Venturing Kodiak National Leadership Course. Boy Scout training is considered some of the worlds best by corporate America as well as most colleges and the military. We may be meeting Costa Rican Scouts along the way.
The Course Cost is not yet set and will not be final until at least August 1st, 2008 at which time we can confirm prices to book airline tickets. The Course Cost will include your round trip flight to Costa Rica, your special uniform, food, lodging, and rental gear. We suggest that participants take the Venturing Leadership Skills Course (VLSC) prior to the expedition as well as Wilderness First Aid, CPR with AED, and Basic First Aid, but this is not required.
Registration is not yet active. We are looking for skilled adult leaders for the trip. Please contact us if you are a doctor, paramedic, EMT, professional photographer/videographer, journalist, or divemaster. We will issue adult positions to the best skilled applicants as there are only 6. If you have questions PLEASE contact us. We are looking for sponsors. Keep in mind this is a Scouting venture and thus all fundraising must comply with your council's policies.
